Collage experiment

Short post for today. After a loooong hiatus from collage, I broke out all my magazine scrapes and made this little tree. I've been wanting to play around with collage and watercolor in a more illustrative manner and this seemed like a good place to start! Over all, I really like how it turned out! ^_^

April '16 Sketchbook

Apologies for the somewhat skimpy selection of sketchbook sketches. Things have been crazy around here because (*drum roll please*) Jon and I are buying a house!!! We are so, sooo excited and at least 75%  of my brain space is presently occupied with house stuff. However, I do intend to keep blogging every week, so we'll see how that goes.

June '15 Sketchbook

Since being out of town last week, I was worried I wouldn't have much in my sketchbook to blog about for this month! But I finished up a few environment studies from my last sketchbook, added them to what I already had and ended up with a nice little collection. My sister's wedding was lovely and it was great to see so many family members! Now, I just need to get my life back in order and start drawing again!

Also, Happy Half Christmas!! I know we have a lot of summer left to go, but I'm already day dreaming of cooler weather. :-)

April '15 Sketchbook

April turned out to be a super colorful month, which is awesome!! I did a lot of stuff with watercolor, especially after getting some Pentel Aquash water brush pens. The water is stored in the handles and can be squeezed out through the brush, which eliminates the need to carry around cups of water. So basically, I can watercolor ANYWHERE!!! (Pretty excited about that, in case you couldn't tell. ;-))

January '15 Sketches

Lots of sketches to share this month, and some from last month, too. I've actually started working specifically in my sketchbook once a week and it's been awesome! Making time to sit down and try out new, weird ideas has produced a ton of neat variety in my work and given me lots of good pages to choose from. This is definitely a habit I want to continue. ^_^
